The series Power Hopper publishes is a continuous Texas 12-month fixed-plan benchmark at 1,000 kWh. It is useful for “where has the market been?” It is not a reconstruction of one company’s ZIP price.
How to read it when the table appears
- Each month is a statewide benchmark point, not an offer.
- February 2021 (Winter Storm Uri) stays in the history. We will not smooth it away.
- If a month is marked MTD or snapshot — including September 2026 when published — it is not a completed monthly average.
- Direct named-provider examples, when present, stay listed as observations. Gaps are not interpolated from this benchmark.
