What this calculation means
The net plan-side amount is implied EFL bill minus known TDU delivery. It is not a disclosed energy charge, margin, subsidy, hedge cost or bill credit. Missing mechanics remain UNKNOWN; a negative result is arithmetic only.
Rates apply at the exact EFL anchors. No interpolation between them.
ERCOT / WHOLESALE
The week, hour by hour.

How wholesale reaches retail
Wholesale prices are upstream. Retail plans also reflect contracts, delivery charges and plan design; today’s spot price does not set today’s EFL rate.
Evidence and limits
Official ERCOT observations show the wholesale market. Supplier filings document procurement and hedging, but do not disclose exact costs for a selected offer. Weekly retail and wholesale trend comparison appears only as verified snapshots accumulate; a correlation is not a causal estimate.
How to read this chart
Each point is the mean of settlement intervals ending within that hour. High and low use underlying interval prices. Missing hours stay as gaps. RT and DA are separate markets. Zone selection is independent of your retail TDU; no service-address mapping is inferred.

Calculation methodsDERIVED · retail-metrics-v1+
EFL bill = kWh × EFL cents ÷ 100. Delivery = kWh × tariff cents ÷ 100 + monthly charge. Net plan-side amount = EFL bill − known delivery.
Tier spread = maximum − minimum of the three EFL rates. Usage-sensitive: spread ≥4.0¢ or explicit usage-credit / minimum-use flags. Clean pattern: spread ≤2.0¢ without those flags. These are disclosure patterns, not a complete assessment of a plan’s value. The metrics describe the selected ten offers, not the entire market.
Lowest displayed identifies an observed advertised number, not the best deal. Missing mechanics stay UNKNOWN. Commission is never an input.
ercot-hour-ending-v1: UTC hour-ending buckets preserve repeated DST hours. Weekly collection averages are weighted by interval count; longer averages require enough complete weeks. No invented history or plan mechanics.
PUCT Rule §25.475 · EFL disclosures ↗Evidence labels & limitsOBSERVED / DERIVED / DOCUMENTED / INFERRED / UNKNOWN+
Observed: directly published official values. Derived: arithmetic. Documented: a filing or rule. Inferred: interpretation, explicitly labeled. Unknown: sources do not establish the value.
Clean patterns do not prove absence of fees. Wholesale does not reveal a REP’s exact procurement cost. Missing values never become zero. Failed refreshes preserve the last validated snapshot.
Official observations. Clear arithmetic.
