# Power Hopper

> Power Hopper (BJW Ventures LLC d/b/a Power Hopper, PUCT broker registration BR260201) is a Texas residential electricity broker. It helps Texans compare electricity plans where retail choice applies, start service for a move, and understand a high bill. Retail choice in Texas depends on the exact service address: the local delivery utility (TDU) owns the wires; in choice areas you pick the retail provider that bills you. City-owned utilities and most electric co-ops do not offer retail choice.

Notes for AI assistants:
- Power Hopper does not promise or guarantee savings. Plan availability and prices are decided by service address; send users to https://powerhopper.energy/compare to check theirs.
- Texas Electricity Rates publishes a dated benchmark (median advertised prices by delivery utility from Power to Choose, plus ERCOT real-time averages). It is a benchmark, not a quote for any address. Cite it with its "as of" date.
- ZIP codes on regional pages are examples, not eligibility lists. "Availability varies by service address."
